World No Tobacco Day 2013: Filmmaking competition

World No Tobacco Day Filmmaking contest
This World No Tobacco Day and it’s time we took notice of the growing number of people suffering from absolutely avoidable conditions brought about by the use of tobacco.

We at Health.india.com, thought it would be a great opportunity to get you involved in getting the message out. So this World No Tobacco day, we would like you to make a short video on any one of the following topics:

1. Save your buddy, nip it in the butt

2. Smokers – are you being manipulated?

3. Quit smoking for me

4. I don’t want it second hand

5. Smoking ain’t cool

Prizes:

There will be only one winner, chosen by a system of voting.

What’s the big incentive?

Loads of publicity – The winner’s video will be featured on the Health.india.com YouTube page (Healthindiavideos), on the Health.india.com website and will be featured on the India.com carousel.

Just follow these rules and you could be the next big filmmaker!

RULES:

1.  Any type of video or film camera may be used. There is no limit to the number of cameras.

2. The competition is open to participants across all countries

3. The footage should be a minimum of 1 minute long and a maximum of 3 minutes long.

4. The completed film should be sent to the India.com office before the 28th of May,by 7:30 pm (1930 hrs).

5. The film may be sent in either as a  CD or DVD, in a media format that can be played by VLC media player.

6. Charges of making the film and sending the CDs/DVDs are to be borne by the sender.

7.  The film making team should have a minimum of 1 member and a maximum of 8 members.

8. Participating groups are encouraged to work with a local composer and/or musicians to write and record music for the films. It is permissible for a participating group to use pre-recorded music; however the participating group must have the rights to any music used in its film and must provide releases for all music used. As with music, pre-recorded sound effects are allowed, but you must have rights to use them. DRM free audio is encouraged.

9. The winner of the competition will be chosen by a panel consisting of the Health and Media team of India.com, through a process of voting.

10. The decision by the panel of judges of India.com would be final and binding. No claims would be entertained once the decisions are announced

11. Stock footage or footage shot or created at another time may be used.

12. Animation and special effects are permitted, but the film-maker must have rights to the animation.

13. Still photographs are permitted, provided that the team has the rights to them.

14. Participants are encouraged not to use opening credits, you may use only closing credits.

15. To be eligible for the Project, entries must be the original work of the participants. It must not infringe third-party’s rights and must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent). It must not contain obscene or pornographic material and may not contain defamatory statements about any person, company, organization or entity. It should not invade privacy or other rights of any person, company or entity. The film may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations; and may not contain any copyrighted elements, other than those owned by the participant.

16. Entries containing prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the India.com team, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be disqualified. India.com reserves the right to make the final determination as to which Entries are eligible. India.com also reserves the right to refuse to screen a film or to make an announcement at the screening regarding the content of the film.
